    In collaboration with TAFE NSW, we are offering you our two-day training program on CO₂. With a mix of theoretical and practical hands-on experience, the program provides two nationally recognised units of competence in the use of CO₂ as a refrigerant.

  • Course Description

    Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Service and Repair Carbon Dioxide Refrigeration System

    This Skill Set contains the following two nationally recognized Units of Competence:


    • Apply safety awareness and legal requirements for carbon dioxide refrigerant 
    • Repair and service carbon dioxide refrigeration systems 

    What you will learn in this 2-day course:

    • How to safely handle and work with refrigerant grade Carbon Dioxide (R744)
    • About the various system types currently being installed by the supermarket industry. This includes both Sub-Critical (cascade) systems and Trans critical systems.
    • How to charge a system and make basic repairs. The college possesses a fully functional supermarket setup that can be operated in either sub-critical or trans critical mode.


    Applicants must be fully qualified tradesmen in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Sector.
